Wicker Park Social Center in Highland, Indiana

If you’re looking to save a little money and on your wedding reception you may want to consider looking across the border into Northwest Indiana.  You’d be surprised at how much cheaper things really are and it’s only about 20 minutes away for some people.  A great reception hall on the Illinois and Indiana border is the Wicker Park Social Center in Highland, Indiana.

The Social center is located just off of 80/94 on US 41.  It’s centrally located inside the large Wicker Park common grounds.  As you make your way inside the social center you’ll instantly notice the beautiful dark mahogany walls and the charming and cozy fireplace inside the main foyer.  Then as you enter into the dining room you’ll be surprised by it’s size.  The large dining hall can easily accomodate up to 400 of your guests making it very roomy for receptions with less guests.  You’ll also fall in love with the large picture windows that look out into the common grounds of the park and the large pond.

Outside of the facility there’s also a beautiful chalk white gazebo that sits on the edge of the pond.  If you’re considering an outdoor ceremony the beautiful gazebo is available for rent.

The preferred caterers at Wicker Park Social Center is Dining Solutions.  They are relatively inexpensive (around $30 a plate) and have a very diverse menu.  A full bar is available for an additional fee.

My personal experience of working with the Wicker Park Social Center has been excellent!   The catering staff at Dining Solutions was courteous and very accommodating.  Their food was also top notch.
