Tinley Park Wedding | August 28th, 2010

Over the years I’ve always been a fan of outdoor summer weddings. You know, the ones under the big white tents with picture perfect weather! Well this week’s Tinley Park Wedding was one of those types of events. The temperature was a refreshing 80 degrees and the sun was bright without a cloud in the sky. There was even a slight breeze to keep the humidity down and the bugs away. This week’s Tinley Park Wedding Reception was for Derek & Jaime Peddycord (Siegers).

The reception kicked off early around 4:30pm with drinks and cocktails for Derek & Jaime’s guests. During this time our bride and groom snuck down the street with their bridal party to the Tinley Park Train Station for some fun wedding pictures. After they had finished, it was time for them to quickly head back to the reception so we could get them lined up for introductions. The song they chose for their intros was “Nothing But A Good Time” by Poison. This song was totally Derek and Jaime too! In fact, they originally met at a Poison concert. So we absolutely had to sneak that song in there! :)

After introductions had been complete we then brought Derek & Jaime to the cake table where they cut their meticulously handcrafted wedding cake. While they were cutting their cake we played the song “Sign, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours” by Stevie Wonder. The song worked great and it really set the mood for dinner! After they sliced up their cake we then brought the bride and groom around the table to their seats for the blessing and toasts.

Once the formalities had been completed it was time to open the buffet up for dinner. The dinner was provided by Taste of Home Catering a renowned home catering company from Hinsdale, Illinois. The food was absolutely delicious and there wasn’t a complaint from anyone there! It’s what one would come to expect from a great caterer!
