Serbian Social Center in Lansing, Illinois

Serbian Social Center is located in Lansing, Il right off of I-394 and Stony Island Avenue. I believe this reception hall is actually owned and operated by the church next door. This reception hall has one large dining area that can accommodate up to 1,000 people or you may choose to split the large room into two separate rooms.

The Serbian Social Center offers a warm and comfy atmosphere with low ceilings, beautiful chandeliers, and matching wall sconces. Each dining room has an oak bar and massive hardwood dance floor. The West Wing Ballroom even has a large stage for your head table or your Disc Jockey.

After performing at the Serbian Banquet Center a few times we’ve developed some mixed feelings on this venue. We’ve had a few issues with dealing with the hall manager to be exact. I don’t recall the lady’s name, but if you contact the hall for an appointment you’ll meet her. She’s very shrewd and unfriendly. We’ve worked at this venue twice and both times the hall manager was rude to the guests, the B&G, and the wedding vendors. She was very negative and had the approach that it was her way or the highway (not an attitude you want to deal with on YOUR wedding day). We’ve even spoken to a few couples that have been there and would agree the manager is not easy to work with. I never like to blog bad things about a venue, but this is something I think is of importance. As with all things though, this is just our opinion and we invite you to develop your own.
