River Forest Country Club in Elmhurst, Illinois

If you’re planning a reception or banquet in the Elmhurst area then you have to check out the historic River Forest Country Club. Originally built in 1928, the large club house located at the center of the golf course has hosted hundreds of banquets and receptions.
The club house at River Forest has a very historic feel to it and can easily accommodate a reception of 300 guests or less. When we were last at this facility we were in the room upstairs. I don’t recall the exact name of the room, but it was pretty amazing. As you enter in through the glass doors you’ll enter the spacious fireplace room. The high ornate ceilings are beautiful and really contribute to the overall luxurious look. You’ll also notice a large marble fireplace that works great for pictures.
Next to the fireplace room is the spacious dining room. This room’s ceiling is a bit lower than the fireplace room and is acoustically a little better for amplified sound. This room is obviously where most of the dining actually takes place. Along with plenty of room you’ll also have a great view of the golf course below. There is even a large outdoor patio with a tent that you can utilizde during the warmer months to enjoy some fresh air. In the summer months they’ll generally use this spacious outdoor area for cocktail hour. It’s quite remarkable!
Along with the beautiful facilities, the staff at River Forest Country Club is also top notch! When we were last at the country club we worked alongside with Hayes Anderson, the banquet captain. She was a great facilitator and very pleasant to work with! She’d definitely be a great asset to any reception. The rest of the banquet staff was also very accommodating and really made the night come together seamlessly! I would highly recommend this facility to anyone!
