Rialto Square Theatre in Joliet, Illinois

If luxurious and grand is what you’ve pictured for your wedding reception then the Rialto Square Theatre in Joliet, Illinois is the place for you. Originally known as one of the top ten theatres in the nation, the Rialto Square Theatre is known for it’s grand style of decor.

The inner lobby of the Rialto Square is lined with mirrors and is modeled after the Hall of Mirrors in the Palace of Versailles in Paris, France. As you continue on into the theatre you’ll enter into the large main rotunda. This is where most wedding receptions take place. The large rotunda is surrounded by 18 Corinthian-style columns, and is surmounted by a dome very similar to the Pantheon in Rome. Suspended at the top of the dome is an eight-arm crystal chandelier, also known as the “Duchess”.  This large chandelier is about 20 feet long and contains over 250 lights.  At one point this was one of the world’s largest chandeliers. Very impressive!  Inside the large rotunda there are also two grand staircases. These staircases work great for grand entrances and family portrait pictures.

The Rialto Square Theatre can accommodate up to 400 of your guests inside their inner lobby and rotunda. Their wedding coordinator is also available to help you plan the perfect wedding. If that isn’t enough, there is also free parking for everyone.
