Summer weddings are our most favorite of all! The wedding colors are bright, the weddings cakes are beautifully decorated with summer flowers and the weather is almost always picture perfect. As I ponder back on last night’s summer wedding, I must say it fit the perfect definition of a summer wedding. This past Friday we had the wonderful opportunity of joining Hal & Erin Hamstra (Voss) for their Homer Glen Wedding Reception. This event took place in Homer Glen, Illinois and was hosted inside the luxurious Dinolfos Banquets. There were about 260 people in attendance for this summer wedding and everything went off without a hitch!
The doors at Dinolfos opened sharply right around 7:00pm and the room filled up very quickly. During this time we played some quiet adult contemporary and jazz music in the background to set the mood and let the guests get comfortable with the surroundings. The banquet hall staff was also on hand with hors d’oeuvre and drinks. Then around 7:45 pm it was time to line the bridal party up and get them situated for their introductions. Line up was a breeze and we quickly jumped into a fun Chelsea Dagger themed wedding introduction. Want to see more? Be sure to check out Erin & Hal’s Homer Glen Wedding Video.
After introductions were complete we then brought our bride and groom down to the center of the dance floor where they cut the cake for everyone. During the cake cutting we played the song “Sugar, Sugar” by the Archies. This was a fun song and it was a great way to transition into dinner. For dinner the guests had the choice of individually served chicken, tilapia or filet. As always, the food from Dinolfo’s was top notch! A+++
As dinner was coming to a close and deserts were being served, we invited everyone to turn their chairs and watch a short 12 minute video montage with pictures of Hal & Erin. I always enjoy watching people’s reactions and hearing the laughter during these presentations. It’s quite comical! When the video montage was finished it was then time for the banquet hall staff to reset the room and make room for dancing. While they were breaking down some tables we brought Hal & Erin out to the center of the dance floor where we played the Wedding Shoe Game. If you’ve never seen this game before you’ve got to check it out. There is a short sample inside Hal & Erin’s Homer Glenn Wedding Video so be sure to check that our for a sneak peak!
Once we finished the Shoe Game it was then time for some dancing. Hal & Erin kicked the evening off by dancing to everyone’s favorite slow song “Love Me Tender” by Norah Jones. We then followed up with our Father Daughter and Mother Son Dance. Be sure to check out their Homer Glenn Wedding Video to see more. We think you’ll like what you see!

We had such a great time Friday night at Hal & Erin’s wedding and reception, and we know everything went so smoothly (couldn’t have gone better)because of some of the people we had working for us. YOU, Stevie Dee, were a huge part of the success of the whole evening. We had no worries because you’re a great business man and run a great DJ and MC service! From our first meeting with you back in the fall to our second, a few weeks before the wedding, I couldn’t have been more impressed or comfortable with the way you handled everything. You took charge at the reception and you got everyone partying and having fun! We were also impressed with the video you put together by the following morning already! It was so special to relive a little bit of the night already the next day!
We highly recommend you to anyone planning a wedding reception! If you need any references, you know who to call:)
Sincerely,
Frank & Doreen Voss
