Aside from it’s annual Irish Festival that takes place on Memorial Day weekend, Gaelic Park in Oak Forest, Illinois is also known for being the perfect place for hosting one of a kind wedding receptions. This elegantly decorated banquet facility is located on 147th street just south of the Rubio Woods forest preserve. Whether you’re looking to host a large wedding with 500+ wedding guests or a small and simple wedding reception, Gaelic Park Chicago is the place for you.

As you pull up to this large banquet facility, you’ll immediately take notice of its large overhang shelter that extends above the front doors. Although it’s something that most patrons probably don’t notice; you’ll come to appreciate it if the weather doesn’t play in your favor. Too many banquet halls in Chicago don’t utilize sheltered entrances and I’ve personally seen it wreak havoc on a few wedding dress. No worries at Gaelic Park though. They’ve got you covered (literally).
As you make your way through the front doors of Gaelic Park you’ll then have the option to enter a few different banquet rooms within the facility. You also have the option of entering the Carraig Pub as well. Gaelic Park Chicago has three separate and distinct banquet rooms that include the Celtic room, Tara Room and the Emerald Room.

The Celtic Room is the smallest of the banquet rooms and is located on the second floor of the facility. Even though it’s on the second floor you’ll have no troubles getting to it. There’s an easily accessible elevator that’ll make it easy for you and your guests to get to the room. The Celtic Room offers a perfect setting if you’re looking to host a small and intimate wedding reception. Some features include a full service bar, a hardwood dance floor, private bathrooms and even a projector screen for video presentations.

The Tara Room is their mid-sized banquet room and is located on the main floor. The Tara room was recently renovated in 2007 and is truly remarkable. The Tara room offers a rich and warm atmosphere that’ll immediately make your guests feel comfortable and at home. Some other features within the Tara room include:
- A large hardwood dance floor with plenty of room to bust a move.
- Large picturesque windows that provide plenty of sunlight and views of the patio below.
- A Private bridal room located adjacent to the Tara room that is filled with french inspired furniture.
- Four large projector screens for video presentations and montages.
- A Small stage for musicians or Chicago Wedding DJs

The Emerald Room is the largest dining room located inside Gaelic Park Chicago. This room was also recently renovated in 2007. It’s so new you can smell the fresh carpet throughout the entire room. As previously mentioned the Emerald Room is the largest and it can easily seat up to 525 guests comfortably. Some other features of the Emerald Room include:
- A huge mahogany dance floor that’ll give your guest plenty of room to rock out.
- An elevated stage where you can put your head table and/or your entertainment
- Two handcrafted full service bars equipped with one-of-a-kind art glass.
- A private bridal room that looks like something right out of Cinderella.
- Several large and elegant chandeliers that set the mood.
- Private bathrooms used only by your guests and no one else.
Along with being one of Chicago’s cleanest banquet halls, I’d have to say that Gaelic Park also offers a personal service that you won’t find anywhere else. Their staff is incredibly friendly and they’re always right there to lend a helping hand. If you’re serious about planning a wedding reception that is unlike any other, be sure to contact Jodie from Gaelic Park and see how she can deliver the wedding reception of your dreams.
