This past weekend we have the pleasure of working with Ben & Emily Meyer at their wedding reception. Their reception was held at the beautiful Centennial Park in Munster, Indiana. The evening began with relaxed jazz music while the guests enjoyed drinks and a scenic view of the lake below. After cocktail hour we kicked things with a fun AC/DC style wedding introduction. After all the couples made there way into the room we brought in Ben and Emily to the fun song “Hillbilly Deluxe” by Brooks & Dunn.
As they made their way into the room they proceeded to the cake table to cut their cake. The cake was custom designed by Emily (the bride) and I must say it was a creative masterpiece. After 10 years of DJing I’d have to say it was one of the coolest looking cakes I’d ever seen. It’s ashamed they had to cut it up. :)
During dinner we played the fun and popular ”Dollar Store Game”. To begin each table was given an item from the dollar store. They then had to be creative and come up with a unique way as to how that item will help with their marriage. I always enjoy this game and it creates a lot of laughter.
As soon as dinner was done it was time to open up the dance floor for some good times. Some popular songs of the evening were “We Are Family” by Sister Sledge, “You Never Even Called My Name” by David Allan Coe and “Cherry Pie” by Warrant.
Some other fun highlights of the reception was a surprise singing of “Sweet Home Chicago” by Ben (the groom), a surprise victory dance for University of Iowa’s football team and a “Piano Man” evening closer.
All in all the reception was a success and we want to wish Ben and Emily the best of luck as they travel back to their homestate of Iowa.
Check out their highlight video on Youtube. Also don’t forget to check out our review of Centennial Park Munster from that evening.

Thanks for the great party! It’s University of Iowa— Not Iowa State.
Oops I better change that! :)
